Brooke Young, Owner
is celebrating 10 years of teaching Pilates, a milestone we are very proud of
here! She has received extensive training over the years,
from various Pilates organizations, completing literally thousands of hours of
education, and is now a certified BalleCore Pilates instructor as well. She has taught in various gyms, fitness and Pilates studios throughout Seattle,
including 3 years at Pacific Northwest Ballet, where she worked with a wide
variety of clientele ranging from professional dancers to seniors. She has been
the owner of Young Pilates for 8 years and still loves coming to work every
single day. She loves teaching Pilates, and is looking forward to what the next
10 years will bring.
David Young, Owner is an American College of Sports Medicine certified fitness trainer. He received additional
certification through the Ashmead College fitness training program where he
graduated with honors and a thorough understanding of anatomy, kinesiology,
exercise physiology and more. An experienced athlete, he has competed in the New
York City and Seattle Marathons and more, and knows what it takes to get and stay fit. He is a Stott-certified Pilates instructor and has
experience working with everyone from new moms to Olympic athletes and enjoys
helping people reach their health and fitness goals.
Viviane
Veraguth
was one of our first clients
here at Young Pilates when we opened in 2004. She quickly fell in
love with Pilates, and we were thrilled when she decided to pursue
it as a career for herself. Viviane is a Stott Pilates certified instructor who
delights in helping a variety of clients meet their health and
fitness goals, and her specialty is pre- and post-natal women who
are looking for a safe but effective workout. She is committed to
helping clients of all ages and fitness ranges lead a healthy,
balanced lifestyle. Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Viviane has lived
and traveled all over the world and brings a sense of fun and
adventure (and a charming accent!) to her work here.
Jessica
Veach began practicing Pilates in 2006 when she joined our Bridal Boot Camp
program. One of our greatest success stories, she fell in love with
the method and has been practicing ever since. Jessica
has been an elementary school teacher for 10 years so it did not
take her long to realize that she wanted to combine her two
passions, practicing Pilates and teaching children and teens. She
began the Stott Pilates training program shortly thereafter, and is
excited to finally make her dream a reality by teaching our new Pilates
for Kids classes.
Nikki
Naab-Levy has been in the fitness industry for 8 years
and has
had the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele and study
several fitness-related modalities. She discovered Pilates through
group classes in 2003 and immediately wanted to know more about the
body and the method. In 2009, after completing her B.S. in exercise
physiology from Ohio University, she moved to Washington and
completed her comprehensive Pilates teacher training through the
Balance Within Pilates Studio in Kirkland, Wa. In addition to
Pilates, Nikki is also certified in the MELT Method, a
self-treatment technique that helps prevent pain, heal injury, and
erase the negative effects of aging and active living.
Aimee
Meisgeier began practicing Pilates in 2008 and
quickly fell in love with how it made her feel physically and
mentally. An avid runner for many years, Pilates helped to
increase her endurance through core strengthening and flexibility.
Getting certified to teach Pilates was always a goal for Aimee. She
experienced firsthand the dramatic body shaping and various health
benefits that the Pilates method offers, and wanted to work with
others to improve their overall health. Aimee's greatest
inspiration as a teacher is witnessing her clients reshape their
bodies as well as positive changes in their attitudes and mental
outlook. Outside of Pilates, Aimee is an Interior Designer who
specializes in both residential and commercial design projects and
loves the creative outlet that this offers.
